My cakes, fillings, and icing contain sugar, flour, eggs, milk, butter, and flavorings. Different types of nuts are also used sometimes, so even if the recipe does not specifically call for nuts, there could still be traceable amounts of them. I bake out of my home where all these ingredients are present, so I am unable to certify that the goods would be truly allergen free. I do not do gluten free, dairy free, egg free, nut free, or any allergen free goods.
Character and Copyright
I understand that popular characters are attractive for kids' birthday parties, but I have to refrain from replicating said characters. I operate under the Texas Cottage Food Law and as such I am prohibited from making characters (toppers, Fondant cutouts, or even carved cakes in a character's shape) to avoid copyright infringement. I believe I can, however, design a cake to fit a certain theme and add toys depicting those characters. Thank you for your understanding - I make no exceptions to this.
What's the best way to communicate with you?
I prefer to communicate through message via Facebook: www.facebook.com/cakexcape Email is also fine - cakexcape@gmail.com or click on the "Contact" link above on this website. Telephone conversations are discouraged as I am not always able to give you my full attention.
How far in advance do I need to make my order?
As a rule of thumb, the sooner-the better! Custom cakes are crafted uniquely for each customer and I take great pride in the time, effort, and attention to detail I put in every single cake. Some decorations may need to be sourced or may require extensive drying time and I will not be able to accommodate your request unless the order is placed in a timely manner. For those reasons, I require a 2-week advance notice for any custom cake.I understand that sometimes you may not know exactly what design you will need, but I encourage you to at least make your non-refundable deposit to hold your date. Although I will try my best to accommodate your request, my schedule can sometimes fill up quickly. If you find yourself needing a custom cake with short notice, still reach out to me as I may still have availability. Please note, however, that custom cakes ordered with less than 1-week advance notice will be subject to a $20 rush fee.
How to Order
Message me via Facebook, click on the "Contact" link above on this website, or email me directly at cakexcape@gmail.com and I will communicate with you to discuss your needs. I will then email you a payment request through PayPal. Your order will not be added to my schedule until the payment request is paid. If your event has to be rescheduled or cancelled, you may carry your payment over to another date or event. Similarly, if I run into an emergency situation and I am unable to fill the order, I will refund your payment 100%.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I take cash, Zelle, Venmo, and PayPal. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure all custom cake orders. All other orders (cupcakes/cake pops/cakesicles/cake in a cup) require full prepayment.
Pickup
All goods are picked up from my home. We will set up a pickup time that I respectfully ask you please treat like any other appointment and be punctual. My family has busy schedules too, and I cannot be tied to my house waiting for late clients. I truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation on this matter. I offer delivery service only for wedding cakes, for an additional fee.
